Do you know how Google sees your website? Is your website maximising its potential in being seen and driving traffic to your business? The aim of SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, is not only for your website to be found, but it also allows search engines to rank the page relevance in search results.
Often, we tend to ‘set and forget’ when it comes to SEO. However, it is actually an ongoing process which requires monitoring, adjustments, and strategy.
When was the last time you had an SEO Audit for your website and what should you expect in an audit?
1, Website Analysis
This looks at how Google sees your website, and analyses SEO both on and off your page, including any links that your website currently has as well as how many pages are indexed in the various search engines. This also examines your website’s visible text, code, meta tags and keywords to see how well it is positioned and correctly written for search engines.
2, Competitor Analysis
This report allows you to see how your competitors are placed from Google’s perspective. It identifies what keywords Google is ranking for them, and can give you ideas on what optimisation your competitors are doing for their website. For example, whether they are currently doing SEO or AdWords. This analysis will also outline how many people are searching for those keywords or key phrases per month.
3, Keyword Research & Ranking
This is a two-fold process. First, keywords are generated from your website analysis and competitor analysis to see how many people are searching those terms and how competitive those keywords are. Then depending upon competition, searches, and other preferences, you can strategically select top priority keywords to improve relevance, ranking, and website traffic.
4, Load Speed Audit
The loading speed of websites has become an important ranking factor. In this highly digitalised world, even a slight delay in load speed can cost you conversions! We will run your website through our Google tools to determine whether your loading speed needs to be addressed.
5, Content Marketing Analysis
The content on your website should naturally integrate the keywords you are targeting (however, take care to not overuse them). For example, product or service specific pages should have 1 – 2 targeted keywords that appear on the page within the Meta Tags.
A good way to include keywords is to regularly publish blogs or articles relevant to your industry and include several keywords within them. But you need to ensure you do not duplicate content. Part of your content marketing analysis will be a review of any duplicate content that appears on your website. Google will flag duplicate content and this can negatively impact your rankings.
As you can see, SEO is certainly not a ‘set and forget’ process. There is an ongoing, month by month science behind getting your website onto page 1 of Google and keeping it there.
